The riding covers most of downtown Ottawa, including the Parliament Buildings. From the historic Rideau Canal, the riding stretches west encompassing the neighbourhoods of Downtown, Centretown (Centretown West which includes Little Italy is usually considered a distinct neighbourhorhood), Lebreton Flats, Mechanicsville, Hintonburg and Westboro. The riding encompasses additional neighbourhoods south of downtown, including The Glebe, Old Ottawa South, Lees Avenue, Old Ottawa East and others. Population: 114,032 Elections Ontario Definiton: Consisting of that part of the City of Ottawa described as follows: commencing at the intersection of the interprovincial boundary between Ontario and Quebec with a line running N 45°00' W from the mouth of the Rideau Canal; thence S 45°00' E along said line to the mouth of the Rideau Canal; thence generally southeasterly along said canal to the southwesterly production of Mann Avenue; thence northeasterly along said production of Nicholas Street; thence southeasterly along said street to Highway No. 417; thence easterly along said highway to the Rideau River; thence generally southerly along said river to the easterly limit of the former City of Nepean; thence generally northwesterly and southwesterly along the easterly and northerly limits of said former city to Merivale Road; thence northerly along said road to Carling Avenue; thence southwesterly along said avenue to Highway No. 417; thence southwesterly along said highway to Maitland Avenue; thence generally northwesterly along said avenue, Sherbourne Road and its production to Richmond Road; thence N 30°00' W to the interprovincial boundary between Ontario and Quebec; thence northeasterly along said boundary to the point of commencement.
